We consider candidates for the position by reviewing their application and CV, which are assessed against the Principal Attributes and Person Specification listed in the Job Profile.
Candidates will be scored against the essential and desirable criteria and a shortlist of interview candidates will be drawn up from the highest-scoring applications.
After a shortlisting decision has been made, the recruitment team will contact applicants to arrange interviews or advise applicants they have been unsuccessful. We usually contact all unsuccessful applicants by email. Normally, you would expect to hear from us within two to three weeks of the closing date.
If you are invited to attend an interview, this is your opportunity to get to know the University better and for you to promote yourself, your skills and abilities.
Interviews are conducted by a panel (approximately three people) and this normally includes the line manager. In some instances, there may be a second or even a third round of interviews.
As part of the interview process, you may also be asked to undertake a skills-based assessment, including a test or presentation. You will receive all details and any requirements with your invitation to interview.
It is not currently the policy of the University to pay any interview expenses.
Should you have any specific requirements to support you during the application process please contact our recruitment team via email at staffrecruitment@chi.ac.uk or by calling 01243 816114 and they will be pleased to discuss these with you.
