Sculptures by Tim Sandys-Renton

Tim Sandys-Renton, Senior Lecturer in Fine Art, said: 鈥淭he title 鈥榠ndexical鈥 comes from our interest in semiotics 鈥 the way聽signs聽work. It鈥檚 really about the way things signal themselves by leaving a perceptible聽trace聽on the world. Like the way smoke signals the presence of fire, even if you can鈥檛 see it鈥. Many of the exhibits in the show have a strong presence because of the way the聽idea聽has left an impression on the materiality of the work. Despite the academic chat, we think the works on view embody the qualities that make for interesting art –聽 approachable, varied and committed.鈥

The exhibition is in the Fine Art Studios in St Michael鈥檚 House on the Bognor Regis campus (PO21 1HR).

You can park in the University car park off Felpham Way with the Pay-By-Phone app, or park at nearby Hotham Park car park which is free after 6pm.
